What I have done this year that I am proud of

What I have done this year that I am proud of is teaching English at cram school. Let me tell you why I think so.

I believe that teaching English at cram school is connected to my dream. I have a dream to be an English teacher someday. This dream has not changed since I was junior high school student. I can learn how to teach English effectively to students through teaching at cram school. Of course I make a mistake sometimes. For example, I couldn’t give some students a lesson on English well last week. However, this failure makes me better because this opportunity gave me to think how to improve my lesson better. Thanks to this failure, yesterday I could teach English better than before. This process is need for not only cram school teacher but also whole English teachers. Therefore, teaching English at cram school is good practice place for me to teach English. I am proud of having a good opportunity to teach English.

The most urgent issue in Japan

            I believe that increasing in the number of NEET is the most urgent issue in Japan. Nowadays this problem is caused by several reasons such as growth of population, mental problems and so on. Today let me tell you why I think increasing in the number of NEET is the most urgent issue in Japan.
            First, they have no chance to get money enough. Even if they work somewhere as part time job, their revenue than regular employees’. Therefore, most NEET cannot live on their feet without their parents support. Furthermore, almost all the NEET do not care about themselves seriously because they could live as usual, thanks to their parent's support. However if their parents pass away someday, how do they survive? For this reason, they have to earn money enough to live on their feet. Thus, NEET will not able to get money enough unless they transcend their situetion.

           Second, the environment of NEET is dangerous in a way because they can live without attracting public attention. For example, some NEET shut themselves in their house all the time. That is, they do not have to care about public attention. It seems to be a good way for some people who do not like having relationship with other people. However, there is the fact that today’s society cannot work without other’s relationship, so they have to conquer their weaknesses to making relationship with other people. Therefore, their environment makes them to be out of society.
            In conclusion, increasing in the number of NEET is the most urgent issue in Japan for these reasons. If the government do not take any action, this problem caused other problems such as economical issue, commotion of a crime eventually. (269words)

About Boyfriend

I agree this opinion that having a boyfriend or girlfriend will make your life better!! Actually I have a boyfriend who have been together for 2 years and 9 month. Today, I will tell you why I support this opinion with my experiences.

 

First, spending time with boyfriend is enjoyable and relaxing. For example, I always enjoy dating somewhere like aquarium, cinema, shopping mall and so on because I can walk everywhere with a person who I love!! If both boyfriend and I don’t have much money, relaxing at home and going to the park which is near his or my house is also enjoyable. In addition, according to some statistics which I have seen before, most people tend to feel mentally relaxing when they spend time together. That is, what we do something fun is not so important, the important thing is how long we stay together. In short, spending time with boyfriend make more enjoyable and relaxing time than doing something alone.

 

Second, good boyfriend can give me moral support. Luckily my boyfriend is kind, cool, and good at sports and study so I always rely on his help even if he lives far away (he lives Shiga prefecture). For example, when I feel some disappointment for some reason, he always call me and listen to my problem. After that, he always cheer me up saying some cheerful words like “I assure that you can do it well.” This words from boyfriend makes me more positive. Even I faced some hardship, I could have conquer everything with my boyfriend’s support. Especially both he and I live alone so we need each other’s support. Thus, thanks to boyfriend, I am able to keep my mind positive.

 

In conclusion, it must be true for most people that having a boyfriend or girlfriend will make your life better!! (304words)

Learning foreign language (TOEFL)

I disagree with the opinion that children should start learning a foreign language very early. Mainly I have three reasons for my opinion.

 

First, I suggest that children should learn their own country’s language culture, language more than foreign language. Though it may be good thing to speak English so frequently, it does not make sense not to their own country’s culture at all because foreign language is only the tool for communication. As you know most children has little knowledge about their own country’s culture, language and so on. In short, teacher and parents should give their children an opportunities to learn their own country’s thing.

 

Second, I would like to say that learning foreign language from junior high school is not too late. As for me, I started learning English when I was junior high school and this was first time to study a lot of words, grammars, sound and so on. Some students learned English since they were in elementary school, however I could get more score than theirs, and could get qualification to go to British and America department in Nanzan University, so it is not important when to start leaning foreign language. Thus, it is enough to learn foreign language from junior high school.

 

Third, learning foreign language can be harmful for children sometimes. For example, my brother who is in junior high school started learning English in first of elementary school. However he came to feel how English is difficult, and he was sick of learning English eventually. Nowadays the score of English tests are always bad. If he learned English more later, this problem would not occur. Thus, learning foreign language very early is not always give good effects for children.

 In conclusion, I don’t support the opinion that children should start learning a foreign language very early. (306words)

Skills for the Modern World

I think that managing information technology device well and accepting new information are important skills in order to succeed in the world. Let me tell you why these skills is needed concretely.

 

First, I will tell you about managing information digital device skill. Nowadays, information digital device is necessary for our lives. For example, we rely on using the internet to search what we interested in, keep in touch with a business person who lives away from our area and so on. In a sense, managing information technology is one of commonsense to succeed in the modern world. Thus, managing information technology is essential skills for us.

Second, I will tell you about accepting new information skill. Though this skill sounds easy to have, most people don’ have this skill in fact because they tend to be stereotype as you grow up. When you become adult, you may feel difficulty to change your mind.

However information is always changing. Someone says that the information you get today will be old tomorrow so we have to face the situation we have to adjust to new information. Thus, we should have accepting skills in order to get lots of new information every day.

Pros of technology for communication

I agree with the idea that technology help us have a better communication in family. Technology helps our communication in family. The primary reason for this opinion is that not every time we spend time with our family. As for me, since I had been in junior high school, the main way to communication is using mobile phone because my junior high school and high school were far away from my home. I always left for school at 5:50AM and go back to home at over 20:00. As I write, I have no time to communicate with my family directly. Instead of communicate at home, sending e-mail has become to main way to have a communication in family. Thus, some people like who is too busy to making time to communicate with family have no choice but to rely on Technology.

However, someone still say that it is not real “communication”. They may have the point, nevertheless I insist that real communication existed surely. I will tell you the reason precisely. First of all, communication needs some element such transmit and receive, language and non- language, information and emotion. Using technology can include all elements. For example, when we talk by using phone, we can find out a person over the phone’s emotion from his or her voice. Sometimes we could feel something from silence as well as directly communication. As for me, when I broke up with my boyfriend (now he came back to meJ) and tell about the fact to my mother, she began to cry. I convinced that my mother feel my sad emotion and I also feel sympathy then. Thus, we can meet the consistent of communication by using technology, often called “phone”.

In conclusion, for these reason, I support the idea that technology help us have a better communication in family. Nowadays most people must be busy having a communication in family, so it is better way to rely on technology to communicate with family than have no communicate with them. (334words)

My Way to Enjoy a Weekend

“Do you enjoy a weekend?”. If you asked this question by someone, how do you answer? My answer is not always "Yes" because my lifestyle is always changing nowadays so I am busy costuming my life. In this time, I will tell you about my ideal way to enjoy a weekend in chronological order, and recomend you to spend along this plan.

First, wake up at least by 7 o’clock. This is the most important thing to decide fullness of the day. After waking up, you should eat breakfast enough, take a shower and go for a walk around your house. Sometimes I propose you to go other unknown place by taking subway or train. It must be enjoyable and you will be stimulated in the new sight of unknown place. Of course you will be able to relax.

And then, you should eat lunch by 12 o ‘clock. If you live on your own, you always cook lunch but I think you haven’t contented the tastes of lunch you made, so I suggest you to go to nice cafeteria and enjoy delicious lunch and relaxing reading books there. After that, you go back my apartment and lie on the sofa, listening to your favorite music. This time must be the most comfortable time for you!!

 After 5 p.m., if you don’ t work anywhere, you should have part time job. I want you to try to work at cram school because I enjoy working at there. Especially I like teaching English to high school student. To teach someone is very interesting thing you will also get more knowledge about English through teaching English.

After finish part time job, you will go back my house at about 11:00. So only you may want to do is “taking a bath”. I want you to take time to take a bath at least 30 minutes, and go to bed by 0 o clock.

 

In conclusion, as I describe, I recommend you to do my plan someday.(319words)

My Goal of This Semester

My main goal of this semester is to keep studying English while doing housework. It may be easy goal for someone who is good at English and someone who is good at doing housework and so on but I am not good at both things!! I want to concur these my weaknesses, so let me tell you how I achieve the goal.

First of all, I want to review my lifestyle in spring semester. When I think back, I am always busy doing something and leave these things unfinished. As is often the case with me, I could not doing housework at all while I have to do assignment a lot, go to part time job and so on. Beside I am not good at cooking and tidying my room. So always I ate unhealthy foods in the mess room!! As just described, I found a lot of things which I have to improve as soon as possible from the past.

Second, I want to make my life plan. It is important for me to understand what time class end, what day I have part time job, what day I am free and so on. I will find out a spare time. If I go on this planning every month, I will be able to find what I have to first, and it help me keep a lot of time to study English. I want to use this time to go world plaza to improve my English conversation, study for TOEFL to practice reading section at library and so on. Thus, to find a lot of time, planning is good way for me to improve my English ability.

In conclusion, to achieve the goal, I want to keep these what I wrote. Of course it is not easy for me, but I never give up!! I also want to get strong mentality through keep conducting this plan in this semester.

 

What I did during summer vacation

This was the longest summer vacation in my life. I experienced so many things in this time that I can’ t tell you everything in this article. I will tell you some of my memories of this summer vacation.

              First, I quit my club activity. As you know, I belonged to men’s lacrosse club before summer vacation but I found another way of my life and I felt the relationship of manager went wrong. Of course I was sad at first, but I didn’t regret about my decision and I think it was a good decision for me. I got a chance to change my life, so I want to do something new from now on.

              Second, I had gone back to my hometown for a week. My grandfather passed away last year so anniversary was held at my house. I was excited in the train because this was first time to go back to my home. At the first of this week, I was busy cleaning our house. In this week, a lot of people who are mainly neighbors and cousins came to my house to cerebrate my grand father. At the end of this week, the anniversary finished so I was free. I met my friends who were same club activity at high school. I enjoyed talking with them a lot!!

              In conclusion, my memory of this summer vacation was not always fun however I experienced a lot of precious things I have never experienced before. It was a wonderful time in the long run. (257words)

about Movie

I watched “The Help” in make-up writing class. I recommend you to watch this movie at once if you have never watched. Let me tell you how the story is and why I recommend. Mainly I have two reasons.

First, this movie related with civil-right movement and deal with color discrimination so we can learn American historical background. In this story, black people who work at white family’s house as a maid. I learned how black maid had been treated around the time from this movie. Thus, you can learn how different the state of black people and the state of white people in the concrete.

Second, I moved by Skeeter’s effort to reveal the truth of black maid. She is white American writer and in charge of writing column about housework.She want to know   the fact how black maids treated badly. At first, her purpose wasn’t accepted by black maids, but she never give up to interview. Finally black maids disclosed the fact.It is cruel beyond my imaginings. Thanks to skeeter’s brave action, black people’s community had changed. In short, I Skeeter’s effort to pursue the true is the most important scene in this movie and I think I want to be a person who never give up to know the fact like Skeeter.

In conclusion, “The Help” is worth watching. You can learn a lot from this movie. If you want to watch, let’s ask Imatatsu to borrow this DVD!!(242words)

College students should have a part time job

Many students at university have been doing part-time job since they entered university. I am one of them and as I am part time-job worker, I want to say university student should have some part time job. I will tell you why I suggest to have.

  First, we can have some responsibility to our job. Now I am working at clam school near my house as an English teacher. And sometime I comfort some trouble. For example, I can’t explain some grammar unit to my student easily. For such a situation, I always have a grammar book which I used when I was in high school. So we can barely teach with this book, but it takes a lot of time and deprives the student’s precious time to study. So I reviewed the grammar point after finishing my job, and confirm the key point to never face to the same problem. As this situation says, part time job make me more responsible. Thus we should take part time job to have responsibility which is useful in society.

Second, taking part time job can be filial to my parents. In my case, my parents pay my house rent (about 48000yen), and give me 30000yen a month. I think it is quite expensive but I have to rely on the money to live. Instead I promised my parents to study abroad by my own money. It is not easy for me to save up a lot of money but I want my parents not to put added a pressure on my parents anymore. Thus, taking part time job will help my parents and it is filial to my parents in my own view.

In conclusion, part-time job can help you to get social common sense and should be nice to my parents. However, taking too much caused serious problem such as falling unit, poor performance at study and so on. If we should careful about that, we will get precious experience which we can’t learn at university and at home.(338words)

Achievements during my college days

There are a lot of things to achieve while I am in university. Let me tell you mainly two my goals during my collage days.

First, I want to pursue what I want to learn deeply. I am interested in teaching English (same as English education), communication, linguistic and so on.

Now I am busy to grow up my English communication skills so I cannot pursue these academic contents deeply. However if I study basically English hard, it also may help to get adequate TOFLE scores enough to study abroad somewhere. Thus I need to learn and a lot of basic skills as soon as possible to learn what I really want to learn.

Second, I also want to discover how enjoyable studying English is. I decided to enter NANZAN University because I like English. I don’t know since when but at least when I was in high school I have interested in English and I want to share this enjoyable things to somebody in the future(I haven’ decided if I become an English teacher yet.). However, now I sometimes feel hard to learn English. So I need to study English hard to feel that studying English is enjoyable every time.

 In conclusion, the big aim during my college days is not only speak English fluently but also share and tell somebody academic things and how enjoy studying English. To achieve these goals, what I have to do is study hard and grow up my basic English skills. It is hard for me, but I never give up!!

 

About my concern

Over 2 month have passed since I entered Nanzan university. I get used to enjoy my life at university. However, I have some concern about my life outer school. Let me tell you what I concern.

 

My concern as a college student is my lifestyle at home. I live on my own, so I have to do everything alone, so I cannot get the time enough to do what I want to do. I belong to men’s lacrosse club and I come back my apartment at 21:00. Other weekdays, I have part time job and my job usually ended at 21:40 o’ clock. Thus, it is difficult for me to do everything what I want to do. I wish I could spend time for studying English.

 

So I am going to write how can I overcome this concern?? The most ideal opinion is cutting back on any wasted time. As for me, I always use iPhone to see LINE, twitter and to play 2048 when I am free. I rethink if it is really necessary time, and the answer is NO. Thus, I can spend more time efficiently if I cut back on such a wasting time.

 

In conclusion, my concern can overcome if I continue to make an effort to cut back time using iPhone.  (216 words)

About my favorite class of NANZAN

            My favorite class of NANZAN is LL and OC class.  Let me tell you why I like it.

 

First, the atmosphere of class is very friendly. We have an opportunity to communicate with classmates (member are always changed) in OC class, so we can enjoy talking with my classmates. Moreover, we have LL and OC class three times a week. The opportunity of meeting friends is the largest in any class. So we can easy to communicate with classmates. LL class and OC class are same member so I like both class.

 

Second, teachers in LL and OC class are very good adviser. When I ask them something, even if it is very trivial thing, they teach me again and give a good advice very kindly. When I am worry about my English skills, they encourage me. My teacher in LL class (I am sorry that I forgot my LL teacher’s name) and my teacher in OC class, Heather are very kind enough to talk a lot of time after the class. Thus, teachers in LL and OC class help me anytime.

 

In conclusion, atmosphere and teacher in LL and OC class are the reasons why I choose LL and OC class as my favorite class of NANZAN. If you take this class every time, you will get not only English skills but also great relationship.

About my best friend

Do you have best friend?? I have them who can talk about anything. I want to tell you about one of them, Kana Hoshikawa. Unfortunately she isn’ t in NANZAN university. Let me tell you about why I choose her as best friend.

 

 First, she and I had been known for more than 6 years. We were in same junior high school and senior high school, and in same club activity. I play the cello and she plays the violin in the club. When we were in the same class, we were always together wherever we go. She was always stay by me and I was always be with her.

That is one reason why I introduce her as best friend.

 

Second, I respect her personarity. She is hard worker, such as focus on one thing ,and good at the one thing. She plays violin very well. Moreover she is good at not only ability of violin but also study. She goes to SOPHIA university now.i always think that I want to be like her someday.therefore she is not just  friend but respectable person for me.

 

In conclision. Kana Hoshikawa is invaluable person for me. Sometimes I miss her but we cannot separate each other forever wherever we are. (214words)

 

 

 

 

 

About good point and bad point at NANZAN university

About 1 month has passed since I go to NANZAN university. Everyday, I meet and talk many good friends and teachers, I enjoy my school life now.

I would therefore write about what I like and what I don’t like about NANZAN university.

 

A good point at NANZAN is there are many opportunities to communicate someone in English. As I am Eibei student, I expected NANZAN to grow up my English communication before I enroll in NANZAN. Now my English ability is not enough to express everything in English but I hope that the more I take English lesson at NANZAN, the easier to communicate everyone in English. So NANZAN will grow up my English ability.

 

There are many good point at NANZAN university and much more, but sometimes, but I found one bad point at NANZAN. I think NANZAN’s building service is ill-equipped. Nowadays many universities have change to use ID program everywhere. My friends who is going to another public university said that she use her own ID card to enter classroom, to buy school lunch and so on. NANZAN is inferior to this university in this point .NNZAN should be import this ID function to be more useful for us .

 

In conclusion, NANZAN university has a lot of characteristics. As we are NANZAN students, we may have to be acceptable for NANZAN’s good points and bad points.

My hobby

My hobby is playing the cello. Do you know cello? It is one of string instruments.it is larger than violin and the sound is lower than violin. Let me introduce why I like playing the cello.

 

First, playing the cello can make audiences comfortable. As I am chellist,

I joined many concerts in my highschool days. After finish the concert, Many audiences tell me that the concert was very impressed. So I found that plaing the cello is the roll for audience to be comfortable.

Second playing the cello is very fun for me. I started to play the cello when I was 7grade student. The more practice I do, the more fun I feel.

Third, playing the cello sometimes give me an achievement. In my orchestra, I have to play completely everything written in musical score. That is sometime difficult for me but the more I practice, the wider range to play I can.

 

In conclution, playing the cello is part of my life. nowadays I am too busy to

play it but I want to play the cello in this GW.

Introduce about my hometown

 

I will introduce about my hometown. I was born in Hamamatsu and raised in there.

Now I live in Nagoya for on my own, and sometimes I miss My hometown because I love there.

Hamamatsu is famous for music. Many music events are held in my city. Especially the event that I want you to know is International Piano Contest. I think that this contest is the biggest event for classical musicians (especially for pianists) because many professional pianists around the world come to my hometown every year!! Hamamatsu is not only for professional musician but also amateurs (like me!!). I had a lot of opportunities to play the cello when I was in Hamamatsu.

And more, Hamamatsu is main producer of piano. My hometown is birth place of YAMAHA piano. If you are interested in music, it is worth visiting my hometown!!

I will introduce about myself. My name is Kaori Sugimoto. I am from Hamamatsu, a big city in Shizuoka prefecture. My hometown, Hamamatsu is famous for eel, orange, and music 　　　　　　　　instrument, especially piano. Now I live in near NANZAN in Nagoya. I can come to here by foot for about 5 minutes.

 I have one younger brother and one younger sister. He is in 8 grade(14 years old )and she is second grade high school student.

I have mainly two hobbies. One is music. I like playing the cello, listening to music. When I was junior and senior high school student, I am on the strings orchestra club. And now, I am a member of local city orchestra so I love classical music. But I often listen to not only classical music but also various kind of music. Now I am into listening Porno Graffitti.

Another hobby is sports. I am not good at playing sports but I love watching any sports and rooting for sports players. In my college life, I want to join in men’s lacrosse club and support player as a manager.
